Why work at Leader Street School of Music?
Unlike other music lesson providers, we are a tuition-driven, Adelaide-based business. In other words, we focus on keeping our teachers working happily with great students in an engaged, artistic community. Furthermore, our professional admin team keeps everything running efficiently.

What is the pay?
Our rate of pay is $80 per teaching hour.

Where will I be teaching?
Leader Street School of Music is located at Derringers Music Complex, 66-72 Leader St Forestville SA, 5035.

On average, how many days a week do I work?
You set your schedule. Our teachers generally teach three to five days per week.

On average, how many hours do I work a day?
A teaching day is approximately 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

How much are lessons?
Our 30-minute private one-on-one lessons are $40. Our hourly rate is $80.

What happens if I have to cancel a lesson?
As an independent contractor, you have ultimate control over your schedule. If you need to cancel due to illness or a schedule conflict, you can do so. You are only paid for the hours that you work.

What if a client cancels?
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy, so you’re paid for any cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice unless it’s due to illness or family emergency.

How do I prepare for an interview with Leader Street School of Music?
We look for music teachers who can sight-read, have good communication skills and possess the right personality for teaching. We evaluate these skills during the interview. More importantly, we’re looking for empathy, good listeners, and the ability to read what motivates students.

Once hired, will I be evaluated on an ongoing basis?
We’re invested in helping you become the best teacher possible. One of our staff will watch you in action to talk about strengths and improvements. We are always available to discuss anything that you may require. On a more formal level, we’re looking for teachers who can retain students, maintain at least an 80% attendance rate, respond promptly to enquiries, encourage recital participation from their students, and inspire great feedback from student families and friends.
